I'm confused.
I'm re-arranging my books and bookshelves. The first thing was to move the shelves into their new places, so I took all the books off them and put them in piles for their new classifications. I'm now putting them back onto the shelves, only there doesn't seem to be enough space.
The only explanation I can come up with is that my bookshelves had some kind of TARDIS facility that has now been switched off...

By taking the books off the shelf you collapsed the L-Space field that had built up around the books.
Without this warping of space-time all the books will not fit.
Keep feeding it the spare books over the coming weeks until the field builds up again.
